Ordered a fish finger sandwich. Which came out with one slice of bread, if you think about it this isn't technically a sandwich, you couldn't pick it up to eat the thing, granted the fish pieces were tasty. Also the club sandwich which was ordered had egg in it, without warning, maybe you don't like egg!
Excellent roasts and great warm and welcoming vibes in winter time. In summer it's a great stop off before or after walks on the Hackney marshes or along the canal. Decent beers and friendly staff
Situated by, I think the river Lea, near the old waterworks nature reserve which is a few minutes walk away. A dog friendly pub with lots of bowls for once. The food was a bit pricey but you expect that in London nowadays.
After a lovely stroll along the river Lee we happened upon an idyllic pub set by the riverfront named the Princess of Wales. It had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and was dog friendly! The food there is wholesome if a touchy pricey. That being said it was one of the best club sandwiches I had ever had. The mulled wine was also a welcome treat on a brisk morning. The cheese board was a lack luster affair with only three crackers for an entire cheese board! All in all an almost perfect end to a Saturday morning stroll :)J
The pub is very cozy inside and the drinks are nice, however we ordered a steak and asked it to be medium raw, but even after sending it back and asking them to make it again, it came fully cooked. I can't imagine what was the problem... Maybe the chef didn't know how?! The burger was awesome though!
